AZRAQ aims to EDUCATE through awareness programs and community presentations, MOTIVATE individuals, organizations and communities at large to make a difference and ACTIVATE them by offering a range of activities on, in and around the ocean.
We are a volunteer-led organisation and have a team of staff that are dedicated to educating, motivating and activating ocean conservation.

AZRAQ was founded in 2017 by Natalie Hore, who was a marine conservationist and scuba diving instructor at the time. With her NGO marine conservation background in Australia, she saw a perfect opportunity to continue spreading awareness in the UAE. During her time at AZRAQ, Natalie successfully grew the marine conservation community with over 200 members across the Emirates, launched several campaigns including #StopSucking and #ShopSustainable Fasion. Natalie served as AZRAQ’s President and Board Member up until 2021. She made her mark inspiring many to care about our oceans and continues to do so outside the organisation.
