Jumeirah Zabeel Saray to host discussion series promoting environmental issues

In an effort to embrace a greener ethos Dubai’s Jumeirah Zabeel Saray has announced Sustainability Talks. Taking place at Arcadia, the resort’s on-site hydroponic farm, this monthly series invites guests to engage with leading advocates of environmental initiatives.

The first interactive discussions will be curated by Hala Dahmane, president & managing Director of Azraq, a non-profit marine conservation NGO dedicated to fostering positive changes for ocean preservation.

The inaugural talk will spotlight marine conservation in the UAE, underscoring the resort’s dedication to environmental stewardship and innovative practices.

Mark Herir, the hotel’s general manager, said: “Offering unmatched experiences while also developing more sustainable practices is central to our operations at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, and Arcadia is testament to that ethos.

“Blending excellent cuisine with an eco-friendly approach. We are delighted to welcome Azraq board members, where they can share their in-depth knowledge from their work with Azraq while discussing how we can maximize our efforts to drive sustainability.

“Our resort is leading amongst other properties in its sustainable approach to hospitality, and Arcadia, with its Hydroponic farm and organic garden, presents an ideal venue to inform and engage our guests in responsible production and consumption.”

Arcadia’s dining experience includes fresh, healthy salads and barbeque grills served around a communal dining table. There’s also the option of chef’s tables and private romantic dinners under the stars.

Arcadia’s 55 sq m hydroponic farm yields a monthly harvest of over 210 kg of leafy greens and herbs, enriching the resort’s culinary offerings with freshness and flavor. This sustainable farming method significantly reduces water consumption and carbon footprint compared to traditional agriculture, ensuring year-round production of high-quality, nutrient-rich produce unaffected by weather conditions.

No times, dates or booking information is available for the Sustainability Talks series at the time of writing.
