Hala Dahmane is the president and managing director of Azraq ME, a non-profit organisation based in the UAE. She envisions a future where marine life is taken care of, and the ocean continues to be a source of life. With over 15 years of experience in international negotiation and business development, Dahmane brings a vast amount of knowledge to her current role. She has worked in the environmental sector and is constantly collaborating with government agencies to drive impactful change.
Dahmane is very outspoken and determined about her beliefs on ocean conservation. She uses the news platforms she is given to speak up about the urgency of protecting marine life and addressing many of the ocean’s challenges.
Azraq ME has achieved several milestones, including organising 50 beach clean-ups across the UAE, promoting marine conservation presentations at schools and corporations, and reducing the use of plastic in the hospitality industry in 55 outlets. They also played a big role in removing millions of plastic straws from the UAE oceans, among many other impressive achievements.
She is dedicated to safeguarding the environment, making her a significant and inspirational personality for the Hot 100 list.
