Our Mission and Objectives

Azraq’s mission is to safeguard the biodiversity of delicately balanced oceanic ecosystems for future generations. Our objectives are to achieve cleaner and healthier oceans by increasing the protections of oceanic ecosystems and marine life, as well as by raising awareness of issues impacting the marine environment, and the life within it.

What we offer

Azraq creates an environment with students, individuals and corporate organisations to CONNECT or RECONNECT with the ocean environment through a range of activities arranged with external partners such as scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking or paddle boarding, in conjunction with EDUCATION and AWARENESS presentations and/or workshops. We aim to MOTIVATE and ACTIVATE the community to take different approaches in their every-day lives, positively impacting the ocean and, as a result, their own health, while ensuring our own operations do not create unnecessary waste. Additionally, we utilise a volunteer base to deliver our programs, whether it be education, auditing waste, monitoring trials, collecting and re-purposing waste products, hosting informative documentary screenings or other eco-focussed events and activities.

  • We are looking for a responsible part-time office administrator to provide administrative support in a well-organized and timely manner. You will report on a one-to-one basis to the Managing Director. This includes but is not limited to;

    • Email Management: Responding to all incoming emails and directing as needed to the relevant team.

    • Calendar Management: sending out calendar invites to team/scheduling meetings as required by the team.

    • Document Management: Efficiently maintaining and storing documents and records on various systems.

    • Responding to inquiries, and volunteer applicants and booking interviews and follow-ups.

    • Responsible for taking minutes for fortnightly Operations meetings.

    • Ensuring MD external meetings are effectively organised and scheduled and the minutes recorded, with a timely circulation of agenda and minutes of meetings.

    • Organising bank statements and assisting the treasurer as needed.

    • Coordinating with Accountants and Treasurer as needed for quarterly VAT submissions.

    • Ensure verification from Treasurer for President approving payments.

    • Completing/requesting Vendor applications registrations.

    • Assisting with various events/team building, etc and managing the stock requirements (Marketing Materials, etc….).

    • Other Adhoc tasks as requested by Board and Team.

    Ideal Candidate

    • Passionate about sustainability, the environment and the community with a willingness to learn.

    • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.

    • Up to date with the latest office applications.

    • Outstanding organisation skills.

    • Excellent verbal and communication skills.

    • Experience with Cloud-based storage applications.

    • Strong grasp of written and verbal English, Arabic is a plus.

    • Ability to multitask and prioritise daily workload.

    • Attention to detail.

  • We are looking for a Volunteer Marketing Coordinator who will coordinate Azraq’s marketing efforts on various platforms. This includes but is not limited to;

    Collaboration Management:

    • Work closely with the third-party social media company to align on campaign goals, strategies, and execution plans.

    • Act as the main point of contact between the company and the marketing team, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

      Social Media Campaign Development:

    • Contribute to the planning and creation of social media marketing campaigns that align with the company's brand and objectives.

    • Assist in the development of content calendars, posting schedules, and advertising strategies.

      Content Creation and Management:

    • Occasionally create engaging and relevant content, including blogs, decks and videos;

    • Monitor content performance and adjust strategies as necessary to optimize engagement and reach. 

      Community Engagement:

    • Foster and maintain a positive online community by actively engaging with followers and responding to comments, messages, and inquiries.

    • Monitor and report on user-generated content and customer feedback. 

      Analytics and Reporting:

    • Track the performance of social media campaigns using analytical tools.

    • Provide regular reports and insights to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts and suggest improvements. 

      Ad Campaign Management:

    • Collaborate on paid advertising campaigns across social media platforms.

    • Monitor ad budgets, audience targeting, and performance metrics. 

      Market Research:

    • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activities on social media.

    • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for growth and engagement. 

      Brand Consistency:

    • Ensure all content adheres to company brand guidelines and legal requirements.

    Ideal Candidate

    • Passion for marine conservation and environmental stewardship.

    • Digital marketing and/or social media experience.

    • Basic design experience is an asset.

    • Strong planning and organisational skills.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong grasp of written and spoken English (Arabic a bonus).

    • Experience managing marketing campaigns.

    • Success in collaborative work and working with people of different backgrounds, experiences and opinions.

    • Can volunteer a minimum of 5 hours a week, with additional hours as needed during peak times.

    • Has own UAE visa.
